1825 O.109 R5 Capped Bust Half Dollar PCGS XF45

From the Montross Collection, a fabulous and quite comprehensive collection of lettered edge half dollars, 1794 thru 1836. Formed by an experienced, demanding numismatist over many years, this collection focuses on quality and grade, with virtually every one of the 550 or so coins being certified by PCGS or NGC, many of the Capped Bust being AU58. There is literally something for everyone! This example is dark and crusty – but not too much so – and is free of distractions or issues. A wonderfully pleasing example of this Overton rarity.
