David began collecting Indian cents and Mercury dimes in 1973 at the age of 13. Before long, he was “wheeling and dealing” with other teenage collectors in the neighborhood. By the mid 1980’s, David settled on forming a serious collection of Capped Bust half dollars by Overton varieties. All the while, he was buying and selling coins and using those resources to help finance his collecting ambitions. You will find that he still sells some items on eBay – seller ID: DavidKahnRareCoins. After more than 30 years of dealing in coins part-time, David became a full-time numismatic professional in 2005. He is a member of the PNG (#744) and ANA (Life Member 6503) as well as many other numismatic organizations. In addition, David is an authorized PCGS, NGC and CAC dealer, and a widely recognized expert in die variety attributions.

While he no longer collect Bust halves, David remains a collector at heart, and understand this business from a collector’s point of view. He knows that a coin has to be right for you and for your collection – not just in terms of grade and price, but in terms of quality as well. That is why we always offer a full, 14-day return privilege on any coin bought from us. More importantly, you will find that we will strive to be a trusted source of information and honest advice and opinion. We will not try to “sell” you a coin, we would much rather work on finding the right coin for you. The right coins tend to sell themselves. By the way, we do actively collect a few things: die-struck US contemporary counterfeit coins, Library of Coins albums and numismatic literature. Please keep in mind that we have to buy coins in order to offer them for sale. If you have coins for sale – or are interested in consigning coins to us for sale – please contact us. We understand quality, rarity and we’re willing to pay very strong prices for good material. We will identify rare die varieties and pay fair market prices for them.
