1793 S.3 Chain AMERICA Flowing Hair Large Cent PCGS F15 OGH

Description

Truly a lovely, totally original, wonderfully appealing coin. A coin that I grade VF20, and note that it compares very favorably to any F15 or VF20 examples that I can find being offered in the last 10 years. It isn’t perfect…there are a few, very thin, ancient scratches here and there, and a very minor spot on Liberty’s neck, but the overall aspect is that of a VF coin that is fundamentally brown and smooth. Compare to these recent VF20 and VF25 (!!) examples:
