Description
Very nice chocolate brown and smooth, though that is a bit hard to tell seeing as most at the Talbot, Allum and Lee token undertype remains visible. I’ve never seen this much of the original design left on a struck half cent, and it is pretty darn cool to see! The date of the TAL is off the planchet, or we might actually be able to read it. And, this is a flip-over…the reverse of the TAL is the obverse of the half cent. Our pictures make the coin appear darken it really is, thanks to the stark white NGC holder. That contrast always leaves our darker copper coins underexposed. Trust me, this is a nice, original coin and a very interesting strike!
