1799 S.189 Draped Bust Cent PCGS AG3 CAC

CAC approved. Quite honestly, this coin grades G4, and I priced it as such. Yes, a bit of the reverse lettering is worn smooth, and yes, LIBERTY isn’t complete (though it is all seen, at least in shadow form), but that is attributable to the alignment of the dies and the way the coin was struck. Here, the date is full and absolutely complete, which is unusual for a 1799 cent, even sometimes in VG. Where struck, the details are very bold, and easily meet the G level. The surfaces are basically smooth, the color is excellent and the eye appeal is great.
