I think the PCGS graders have confused the typically seen striking weakness with actual wear. This coin looks to me like a 58, and a pretty darn nice one at that. There is a bunch of soft luster and not a lot of wear. The surfaces are smooth, there are zero distractions and they the resulting eye appeal is great. These are a fascinating series…very collectable on their own (13 coins comprise a complete die variety set, three of which are rare), yet part of the expansive Hard Times Token category.
