CAC approved. A lovely, original example of this low-mintage, Civil War-era date, in a rather odd series. Please do not focus on the PCGS True View pic. We show it only to give you full information, but our pics are much closer to the coin’s actual appearance in hand. Virtually full luster. Intact, original, medium gold color. Just a trace of light wear. No distractions. It is always amazing to me that a coin with as much value as this carried in 1860, made it through the most turbulent time in American history…as well as the ensuing 160 years…without anything bad happening to it!
