Description
A truly interesting historic artifact, and a direct link to the difficulties of daily life during the Civil War. Small change was hoarded by the public, so merchants and others turned to privately issued tokens – the overwhelming majority of these were one cent value – to help make change possible. And, to advertise as well. Those are called Store Cards. This is a general issue, professing patriotic themes, thus called a Patriotic. And they were used. This one is deeply lustrous, has just a hint of blue/violet color and is breathtaking in its preservation.
